Travel Tips
When you are coming from abroad via air, you probably will land in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro or Brasília. From there you need to take a plane (or a bus) to Florianópolis.

São Paulo
There are two Airports in São Paulo; Congonhas Domestic Airport and Guarulhos International Airport. It is possible to take a flight to Florianópolis from both of these Airports. Just check for the best time and price options.

Airlines
The two most popular domestic airlines in Brazil are:

  • Tam (www.tam.com.br) 
  • Gol (www.voegol.com.br)

Money
  • Our currency is called Brazilian Real.
  • If you need to change money it is best to bring Dollars or Euros. Do not bring Norwegian Kroners. You can check updated rates at: www.x-rates.com.
  • Coming to Ibiraquera:
  • When you arrive at Florianópolis you will need to take either a taxi or a bus to Ibiraquera.
Bus
  • You will need to take a taxi from the Airport to the Bus Terminal.
  • You board the bus at the Central Bus Station, downtown Florianópolis. The bus costs around R$16,00 and it takes around 2 hours. 
  • From Imbituba, you will need a taxi to Barra de Ibiraquera. It will cost around R$30,00 and it takes around 15 minutes.
Taxi
  • The taxi to Ibiraquera from Floripa will cost around R$140,00.

Car Rental

Living Situation
  • If you are planning to stay longer then the retreat period here in Ibiraquera you have the options of many guest houses, hotels or renting a house.

About the weather
  • Ibiraquera is a beautiful beach located at southern Brazil. November is during the spring season, temperatures are between 15 to 30 degrees approximately. It is quite windy and because of that Ibiraquera is known as one of the best spots in the world for the practice of windsurf and kitesurf.
